Freddie Mercer
vocal & performance coach.
introduction
Freddie is a highly passionate and experienced singer and vocal coach. Having taught for almost 10 years, he's been constantly developing a system for unlocking the true, inner voice of each student that comes through the door and subsequently helping them to be the best possible version of themselves through focus and attention to their specific needs. The main goal is to maintain the best possible vocal function whilst developing how they WANT to sound and if they don't feel like they already know, setting a course for such an exciting discovery. He pulls from his extensive and constantly ongoing research of the voice, music and the art of self-expression.
If you are looking to practice for a scholarship, rehearse a musical theatre number, prepare for ABRSM grades, just have some fun singing the songs you love or start your first ever singing lesson to see if singing is for you, Freddie is looking forward to hearing from you.

About Freddie
To see singers take not just their voice into their own hands, but their mind and bodies too, allowing the process to invigorate and richen the rest of their lives… that’s inspiring. There’s magic in singing and how it helps us.
Having worked as a choral scholar at Downside Abbey and Westminster Cathedral, he travelled round the world in a select chamber choir singing the works of Faure, Byrd and Palestrina in some of the most prestigious buildings, from St Paul’s cathedral, Frauenkirche church in Munich to St Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican, Rome. Freddie then took his passion for singing into the world of opera and went on to study at Morley Opera School, Associated Studios and the National Opera Studio in Italian, French and German Opera and developed his love for language and acting.
It was at this point, Freddie wanted to expand his education and attended the Academy of Contemporary Music where he studied contemporary vocal performance, gaining a first in his BMus degree, and began to blend the best of the three worlds into his teaching.
Freddie Mercer Music
Also a contemporary singer-songwriter, Freddie writes and records his own music, having recently co-produced an EP of 6 original tracks at the famous AIR Studios in London, which is now released on all streaming platforms.
